7 things to know before buying a trampoline online

Choosing the best size trampoline for your kids can be somewhat tricky, with every website you visit telling you that their trampoline is the "best", the "safest" and gives the highest bounce etc.

And yes this could be true in certain situations, but is their "best" trampoline right for your kids?

Big broad-brush marketing, isn't authentic or tailored to individual families, often leaving families of a new trampoline feeling disappointed but not knowing why...

  • What does "best" mean?
  • What does the safest mean?

Marketing terms as such, are used loosely and only give doubt to consumers as to who to trust.

At Trampoline Web and Warehouse - we have the Biggest Trampoline Display in Australia; with hundreds of kids and families regularly visiting, test bouncing and then giving us feedback on our 18+ trampolines.

The conclusion we have reached after years observing kids bouncing and talking with families at our trampoline display is;  every trampoline is the best trampoline for someone.

Our trampoline display consists of both Round and Rectangle Trampolines of our own Web and Warehouse brand and also the full Vuly Trampoline brand, Thunders', Vuly lift and Lift pro'. Many consumers believe the biggest and the most expensive trampoline is best, this thought really can blind people from the reality, the biggest and most expensive trampolines really aren't suited for the majority of families at all.

Parents and kids arrive at our display often with the biggest and most expensive in mind of a brand or shape, only to find that the bounce isn't as good for them as they would have liked. If kids don't get a bounce that is self-perpetuating then they use up too much energy too quickly and will only stay on in short bursts or even worse not be interested in it all.

Parents generally want to at least get a coffee down, prepare dinner or feed a baby while kids are on the trampoline if the bounce is too heavy for them; meaning they are too light then they tire and get off all too soon.

There is a fine line between buying for the long haul and thinking the kids will grow into a trampoline. Some kids won't be heavy enough for 10 years for some trampolines and others they will never like to bounce on it on their own. This also needs to be seriously considered.

  • Often space or budget will determine the trampoline size and we always say a trampoline of any size is better than no trampoline.
  • No other play equipment is going to use the kids' energy and playful creativity in a small space more than a small trampoline over the long haul of time.

smiling-girl-on-trampolineEach family has different things to consider after the two biggest, available space and budget - here they are...

1. Primarily ages of all kids in the family should be considered, all their abilities and gender.
2. Do the kids do gymnastics, dance, cheerleading, snowboarding, trampolining, basketball, or are they just happy freestyle jumpers?
3. Consider how many kids there are in the family,
4. How many kids are likely to want to be on together? or strictly one at a time rule applies?
5. Are your kids social or generally play on their own?
6. What are their weights?
7. Will they want to choose the ability to; achieve height over space or want space more than height?

With more questions in your mind now than when you first began reading, you will find on our website an honest appraisal of who each trampoline will be best suited to when space and budget are not a consideration.

Choosing the right trampoline is important for kids safety as well, if they are on a trampoline that is too big and heavy for them they won't get the height required to properly clear, the mat when doing a flip and have a greater chance of severely injuring themselves ever how safe the trampoline is said to be.

Buying a trampoline online is easy, choosing the wrong trampoline is also easy, so we advise you to take the time to choose your family Trampoline  with your kids in mind and not follow marketing slogans without considering your family's unique situation.
