Best trampolines for getting kids outside

| 3 minutes read | Written by Julie

Choosing the best trampoline for your indoor kids.

Getting the kids outside can be as easy as getting the right size trampoline.

Often house block sizes are very small and playing on the street isn't an option for many these days. So it is easy to see how kids can just become inside kids. Parents are constantly bombarded with discussions and guidelines on how to minimise kids gaming time, screen time, technology and TV time.

Oh dear, how guilty many sound! I too have worried and cajoled three boys away from screen time with outdoor activities rewarded with later screen time!

Just for the record and your peace of mind, there are many well-adjusted adults emerging as the first lot of kids who have overdosed on screen time. These adults can self-manage their screen time and some that I know are the most brilliant app developers, game scriptwriters and computer IT guys. So don't overly feel too guilty, we need these talented guys and gals.

However, a trampoline to use up some built-up energy can be invaluable and I speak from experience of 3 gaming sons and their LAN party mates.

  • Often the conversation leads to "what is the best trampoline you have?"
  • This phrase; best trampoline can actually be applied to every trampoline, as every trampoline is the best trampoline for someone.
  • The question parents should really be seeking the answer to is “what is the best trampoline for my family”.
  • There are many trampoline suppliers in Australia who market themselves to having "the best trampoline".
  • Not all trampolines deliver the same experience for the user.
  • There can often be some lengthy discussions with a family or about family members to work out which is the best overall trampoline. Taking into consideration all aspects of the family.
  • We also take into consideration where the trampoline will sit in the yard; so available space and budget.
  • Some kids are after bounce height, some want loads of space while others want minimal height. Whatever it is we can help you with it. Buying a trampoline blindly that is sales pitched as the best trampoline just may not be the best for your kids.
  • If your kids are unable to get the height as they would like or they are too light to get sufficient bounce to simply enjoy the trampoline, they will not play outside on the trampoline for anywhere near as long as you would like them too!
  • Mum wants at least a coffee or dinner preparation out of the time the kids spend on the trampoline.

A trampoline that gives the kids a continuous bounce experience is wonderful. There is less energy used by the kids so they will stay outside jumping and away from the screens a lot longer!

If that is a 10ft round trampoline for your wee little toddler, a Vuly Thunder for your 12-year-old happy jumpers, a 9x14ft for your little gymnast or a 15ft for your robust rowdy teens then that is the best trampoline for your family.
