Large Rectangle Trampoline Buyers Guide.
The ideal trampoline for kids varies by the size and weight of the kids, as well as their skills; how they choose and want to use the trampoline.
The key questions on use are; do kids want lots of height; or height and space or just space?
Six Kids came to the warehouse one Sunday afternoon for us to video their honest feedback on all our trampolines. This is their feedback on the 10x17ft with both the standard and high bounce mat options. By sharing with us their age and skills they have given valuable insight for future customers like you to know how your own kids will look and use this sized trampoline and some ideas of what skills can be done on it.
A GeeTramp Force 10x17ft is the same size as an Olympic Trampoline but with a black Garden, trampoline jumping mat. Also has the options of three different bounce mat and springs options.
In this article and video, we are comparing the bounce of Six Kids while giving their honest feedback on 10x17ft standard and high bounce mat. There is also High bounce mat and AU spring recommendations as well from our experiences.
10x17ft Large Trampoline with Standard Mat
Sarah who is 16 years old, and about 5 foot 11 found that she had a lot of room which was good for her needs as a Gymnast and cheerleader, she liked the amount of height she got.
Matt who's 15 and Philip who's 16 both thought it was pretty good, Matt personally recommended it with a high bounce mat but even without it, he likes that he could still get good height and space. They both agreed that this trampoline is for people who would generally have a friend for double bounce or similar. They agreed that they roughly got the same bounce as a 9 by 14ft standard but the bigger space is always good.
Dakoda who is quite light at close to 40kg said after his bounce “ it's a really good tramp, but obviously for someone my size and weight, it's not perfect” He did struggle to do flips on it. But he agreed if you're a lot bigger or a lot heavier than him then this is definitely a good tramp.
Siblings Lilia and Sam who are 12 and 10 that are both quite small, simply found that it was too big for them for daily regular use, we did realize Lilia probably could do three flips, so that's pretty good for someone small and light wanting to practice tumbles and flips for a spring floor environment.
Who would this best suit- light kids who are after a lot of space and train for a spring floor. Light kids who ideally do want to get good height will find it a struggle to get height on this trampoline so will either be best to look toward getting a High bounce mat if the size is ideal or going down to a 9x14ft to get the bounce they want.
Additionally, a standard mat will give a good bounce to kids and teens who are heavier at 65kg or more.
10x17ft Large Trampoline with - High Bounce Mat
The kids all then had a bounce on the 10 by 17 with a high bounce mat and HD Springs. The high bounce mat does come with different springs to what is on the standard trampoline. They’re a heavy-duty spring with a fatter diameter helping to enhance the bounce even further than just having the upgrade of the mat.
Matt was first up to share his experience and absolutely liked it, he said: “it's a good tramp, I'd probably get it if I had a bigger backyard”. Probably better for double bouncers, but it still good for a single bounce, you get height and room to jump which is really good, it's a bonus.
From watching Matt and Philip on the 10x17ft together they looked very comfortable, with room to Double bounce and trick at the same time without any worries at all.
For Dakoda, it wasn’t ideal still either. In some way, he described his experience by the mat feeling loose. I think he was feeling the benefit of the High bounce mat but still too light to be able to activate the full effect of the Heavy Duty springs. Together we decided that if he had a couple of friends on the trampoline with him that it would be a lot better like when he’d been at the meetup.
Then we chatted to 13 yo Georgia and Kaylah who are both Cheerleaders and gymnasts, whose feedback was that their bounce experience was great. It's perfect just if you wanted a trampoline just for yourself and then if a friend came over it's also perfect with your friend, it's like a great size. We find this tramp is good if you want to do series of say back handsprings or front flips but then also if you wanted to progress say, a longer pass it's too short. And I feel like it's a good tramp for like someone that just wants to bounce like a younger person and just likes doing rolls and stuff.
10x17ft Large Trampoline with - High Bounce Mat – With AU Springs
This trampoline combination isn’t set up at the moment in the warehouse but I can give some good feedback on it.
Not for girls doing gymnastics and cheerleading, for them, it would be best to choose the standard mat if that is all they want to do on it. If they want to just jump on the trampoline at times with friends and siblings then going for a high bounce mat will mean more fun for longer as a High bounce mat is easier to bounce on so there is less fatigue.
For boys like Matt and Phil up to adults then a high bounce mat is perfect and can take the multi-users on it without problems.
For younger kids like Dakoda, Lillia, and Sam this is the one they would have chosen and loved. Yes, Georgia and Kaylah too but for them, training for a spring floor is important so they would choose the high bounce with the HD springs so to keep their awareness for the spring floor.
For a family of say 4 small kids who all want to and parents allow them to jump together then High bounce and AU springs is a great option too.
Purchasing a trampoline is a big decision for a family particularly when the kids are using it to train. Choosing the right size for their weight and skills is the difference between the kids continuing to do their sport.
Feel free to call us to discuss your own family’s needs to ensure that your family is happy. We see thousands of kids go through our display every year so have loads of experience in seeing and hearing lots of different feedback but are confident we can match every family and user with the right trampoline and mat and spring combination for them and if the ideal isn’t an option based on space and budget we can guide you to the next best option while outlining the benefits and limitations to know what to expect going forward.

We've been delighted with our new 10'x17' HB (high bounce) trampoline. Our round Vuly was well liked but immediately abandoned. Our four kids (4-11) like the vast amount of space and use it for all sorts of made-up games. The feel of the mat and springs is just lovely - our kids are trying new tricks and/or using it as a surface to practice gymnastics.
The quality of each part is apparent, and it went together well; it's really solid and doesn't make much noise when used (the creaking from our Vuly was a bit trying).
Thank-you to Lucy and the team for the great service.
