Trampoline net options; which is best for you?
Let's have a look at the pros and cons of both types of trampoline nets, the inside net and the outside net so that you can make an informed and ultimately the best choice for your family.
Safety nets that attach outside of the springs allow for a bigger play area. This means that when you buy a 12ft trampoline, this is the space that your kids will enjoy. Whilst with nets that attach inside of the springs, the play area is reduced to 10ft.
If more than one child is allowed on the trampoline often kids will sit on the pads while the other child does some tricks. With an inside net, this isn't possible. Additionally, as children love running or sitting around the edge of the trampoline, if the net is on the inside, kids on the trampoline can be inclined to push children running at the edge.
When the net attached outside of the springs, it is more likely that when users hit the net, they might not fall back onto the mat, but hit the frame. This is why strong padding that covers the spring and frame is important. With proper instalment, this is not a concern.
Outside nets offer
Inside nets offer
- Protection from springs
- No access to frame
- Less play space
- Risk of kids falling or being pushed off the padded edge

Safety Net Enclosure checks before reordering
- In many cases, if the leg count is the same as most regular trampoline suppliers then a substitute can be found
- Often cheaper trampoline will have half the number of net poles and they will only go partway down the leg
- Some styles now have the top of the net pole bent at a range of differing angles.
- Many will have different means to attach the net to the poles and varying top caps on the poles too.
- It may mean buying a full net assembly with poles but it will save the rest of the trampoline from landfill.
- Too many trampoline sellers don't anticipate consumers wanting spare parts even though they continue to make nets of materials not resilient to the UV in Australia
- Companies make their trampoline nets so unique that it is difficult to retrofit. They unethically encourage overloading landfill.
