Check your trampoline before school holidays and keep your kids safe
We have been selling trampolines for 10 years now and we do notice a trend when school holidays have started; we sell more trampoline spare parts. We then hear that the kids want the parts quickly as they want to use their trampoline during the school holidays. Mums also want the parts quickly to get the kids back outside!
To save this angst of using holiday time waiting for trampoline parts our recommendation is for parents to do a full safety and maintenance check of the trampoline themselves or (among all the other things we have to remember to do) have the kids remind you a couple of weeks before the school holidays to check over their trampoline for any parts that might need replacing or repairing prior to the school holidays starting. This allows time for parts to arrive and repairs to be completed before the kids are home, bored and nagging, without their trampoline.
Easier said than done we know - we have had four kids!
Here are some important points that might make the process a bit easier for you:
- Take care when ordering trampoline replacement parts from a different supplier than who you purchased the trampoline off originally
- Some parts like pads are fairly generic across the sizes and brands but nets and jumping mats do take some counting and measuring to compare, be sure you are ordering compatible parts for your trampoline
- Check our Round Trampoline Mat Calculator and Ladder Calculator
- See links to our other articles on why you should use the Mat Calculator
- If you are wanting to add some extra fun to your trampoline then you may like to check out some trampoline accessories
Most of all we hope your trampoline is in great shape already and with just a bit of a wash, leaf litter removal and a check of net pole bolts, springs, elastic ties etc. you are school holiday ready! Enjoy having your kids home and know you have a safe place for them at home to use up some excess energy.
