Brisbane Gtramp Meetup - Hosted by GeeTramp® & Web and Warehouse®
Revised in 2020
With COVID aside although very much a part of our lives in 2020 this isn't the reason we no longer host and put on meetups.
The main reason is the changes to insurance with anything to do with trampolines. The entire industry is affected and while difficult for existing trampoline parks to get cover it is bordering on impossible for a new park unless part of an existing franchise. We have hosted our meetups with trampoline parks and the kids that come are of the extreme level which made the park managers somewhat nervous.
Circus arts we can still work in with to host and run the event for us. However the costs do become exorbitant quite quickly, for their staff to supervise, set up costs and freight on our trampolines, travel costs and for the numbers of kids allowed in the group it's just not viable to charge per child. We do miss the upside of helping to promote Gtramp as a sport and the kids that have gained so much from what they have given to the sport in supporting others and being leaders as well.
For now it is safe to say there won't be any meet ups in 2021 but we will keep our awareness on any changes to insurances but we can't see it happening anytime soon.
If you are wanting to find GeeTramp Trampolines to test in Brisbane we do still have a healthy relationship with Flipside Circus. They have gone to a temporary location while waiting on their new venue to be completed sometime mid 2021. So check in around then before going to this address which is current as of November 2020.
Flipside Circus Riverfront Event Space at Northshore 33 MacArthur Avenue, Hamilton Q 4007
Best to call them to arrange a suitable time to view the trampoline. ph - 07 3352 7233 (2020 has been a year of variable hours for everyone)
Normally Flipside have 3 trampolines on display but currently only have one - the GeeTramp Force 9x14ft Rectangle Trampoline High Bounce / w AU springs
Brisbane Gtramp Meetup Overview - 2018
This is our second year of hosting GeeTramp meetups for the wider Gtramp community of flippers, gymnasts, tumblers and parkour enthusiasts, all whom typically use a garden trampoline for training. Albeit a little on the extreme side. So far we have hosted in Geelong four times and once in Auckland New Zealand.
Why did we host the meetups?
We host these meetups for a few reasons.
- The first is to reward good kids for being good. The gtramp followers we have are all great kids, all actively using trampolines for training, keeping fit, sharing their tips, giving their support and friendship over and over; consistently with genuine warmth and care to see everyone progress safely. We have been impressed. (good job parents too)
- Just as these kids are so supportive and genuine in their feedback to their friends and followers, they are generous and supportive of our brand as we ask them for honest feedback on features or design and we get excellent clear constructive answers. This enables us to know what our customers want. We see ourselves more as their facilitator, communicating their wishes and desires to the factory to bring them better trampolines able to deliver timeless, and responsive bouncy trampolines.
- The third reason that has evolved really from the first two is that at these meetups the kids meet each other including certain idols within their networks. They take photos, and videos then collate them later and share on social media. This is authentic, genuine marketing and it works well for us. Kids and parents seeing other kids using our trampolines in a non staged environment with honest comments all over social media is greatly appreciated by us.
In the past, we have either hosted the meetup ourselves in our own warehouse or at a trampoline park. For further reading on how we have hosted the meetups at our warehouse last year, there are links to articles at the bottom of this page.
There will be some variances to this meetup that we have not done before so please read thoroughly.
For this event we are teaming up with flipside circus; a not for profit circus arts school where they train kids and also run productions. We became aware of flipside by sponsoring the Queensland Cystic Fibrosis' in school fundraiser and trampoline education program. See my article with more information on Bounce2Breathe and please consider nominating your school to participate as it is really a good program to have kids learning more about trampoline safety and learning how to do basic tricks. When we went to Flipside Circus arts school I was impressed and thought it would be a great venue to host our 1st Queensland meetup and an opportunity to have their trainers work with our Gtrrampers - Gymnasts and Tumblers to experience some new things. We have arranged for training experiences to run throughout the meetup and to include trapeze, silks, mini tramp and mat work, also some juggling. If you would like to know more about Flipside Circus click to go through to their about us page
