Huge Family Trampoline Buyers Guide - Gymnast, Cheer and pure fun.

This 14x16ft, huge; almost square trampoline is the oh so social trampoline or the trampoline for large families who all love jumping together.

It is a fabulous trampoline and we designed it for our own family of teen boys.

But we have over the years found it to be an excellent trampoline for a larger range of kids.

14x16ft-trampoline-cheerThe sheer size

By all accounts, it's a huge trampoline so first things first; make sure you are one of the lucky ones who can even fit it in your garden.

Metric size is - 4267 x 4877mm

There are 3 different options on this trampoline now.

14x16ft - Standard Bounce mat - difficult bounce for most users of any age on their own. Ideal for cheer and tumblers as it many ways replicates a spring floor Parkour training teens and freestyle happy jumping teens for wrestling and ball games.

14x16ft – High Bounce mat and Heavy Duty springs   To have just a High bounce mat and no change of springs there was less than a 10% improvement. Combining a high bounce mat and a full set of HD springs there is a total increase benefit of approximately 15% which is low but quite noticeable and overall a better bounce for the kids on the standard recommendation.

14x16ft - high bounce mat and Australian Galvanized Springs Overall the benefit by percentage is less on this huge almost square trampoline compared to all the other sizes but most users feel the change on this size the most. A high bounce mat and Aus / NZ springs make this trampoline highly useable to larger families and all kids who want a lot of space for tumbling, tricks and want to enjoy a social space jumping with friends.

Teen boys requiring height who aim to do a lot of quads and quints will typically still choose a 10x17ft if they are mainly on the trampoline on their own.

Who is this trampoline for?

A brief outline of ideal users or families will be.

Highly social families

Although this huge trampoline is recommended by Australian Standards for a single user at a time, there is the situation of "reality" that the larger the trampoline the more probable it is that there will be more users allowed on it at once. The huge space afforded on this trampoline makes it a pretty safe space for multi-user experiences. The official weight capacity is 150kg but check out this link on how this is derived to give you confidence in allowing more than one on at a time.

Gymnasts

Kids who do Gymnastics in various disciplines who train and practice a lot for on a spring floor. Especially when there is more than one gymnast in the family. Kids who like to train side by side love this and we see a lot of kids testing that out at the warehouse display.

Cheerleaders

For a long time, we have called this trampoline the "Cheerleaders choice" as it is Ideal for them to train and to have a few friends over to train for some of the tower and side by side routines too. Kids love the space to be able to safely flip and tumble, with extra flair and enthusiasm.

Large families

Brilliant for the larger families with 4 or more kids who like to bounce together and typically they are the families that have the extra kids over at their place as well..

Teen boys – they often like this space for some rough ball games, wrestling, flipping and bouncing. Our own teen boys loved it and it was well used up to their early 20s when they all left home.

Which mat and spring combinations will best suit you?

Honing the optimal bounce a little further for kids we have the various mat and spring options.  If you feel a little confused feel free to call us to discuss your specific needs for a trampoline.

Broadly speaking though if your kids of any age are keen for some good bounce out of this trampoline size I would recommend the High bounce with Australian Galvamised Springs.

If they are really after replicating the spring floor as much as possible then stick with the standard mat and spring option.

If as a family you have a mix of cheer kids after spring floor experience and kids that are after a bounce when they are in the mood and groove to be social go the high bounce with the HD springs. this way they get a compromise of both experiences.

What skills does a huge trampoline suit best?

Ideal for twists – often kids travel in their twists so this trampoline makes them feel safer if they do move across while learning or doing this movement.

Ideal for long tumbling – we see many girls going across the diagonal with their tumbles on this and they do delight in the space for this.

Parallel jumping – kids flipping side by side, in a routine

Group work – as cheer kids and parkour kids tend to build a human tower

Feedback in the video from the kids who liked it and why

So, Lilia 12years – she was already a bit puffed, but how did you feel when you got on this one?

Lilia “Well, if you have double bounce it's fine. But if you're just by yourself, it's hard to bounce high, so you can't do very many doubles and stuff. But it's good for tumbling, which is what I like about it.

I think because it's so big, it gets more space to travel more because when we like twist, we wouldn't twist on the spot, we kind of like do a moving twist. So, whenever I have a circle or small one, I'm scared of going over the net or hitting the net.

We like to do long tumbles like because you know a cheerleader like tumbles goes across the floor. Angles,

So, you can do like the long tumbles. And I can tell the difference between the different springs from the one outside that's just got the standard mat to this one. That one's good if you're just trying to get either, the ground or just beginning because it's not too high. This one gets height.

Alright, so Sarah, you're 16 and what did you think of it? I really like it, it's big, and I like how much bounce I get. I'm not as afraid to try more tricks because I have more space. I'm a cheerleader so the space is good.

Dakota. So, that was you on the 14 by 16 with the standard mat, how did you go on it? It's really tiring, especially for my size. But if you're doing something like practicing for like spring floor or you do gymnastics it's really good, and if it's for like a lot of people then it's really good because it's so much space on it.

Matt who's 15, and Philipp 16. I personally prefer it with a high bounce mat. It's more of a tramp for DB or like people who do bigger tricks and need more space. That's what I personally think.  I think I agree with Matt. Especially if they are like a big family and all doing trampolining, then I'd recommend this tramp.

Reviews – 14x16ft Standard Mat

We've had this trampoline for over 3 years now. The kids love it especially when they have birthday parties and they can have all of their friends on there too and it's all safe. My kids can do front and back flips and flip turns (don't know the correct term for it). I have to mention they did go for some trampoline lessons too.

In summer they throw the sprinkler over it's edge and put some soap on it for added fun :-). It's surface has been full of balloons once as well.

Amazing Trampoline so much fun for the 3 kids. Easy enough assembly for the size of it.

Shari Biggs 03/05/2017

Oh my god best trampoline I have ever purchased.
With 5 boys ranging from 16 to 2 years this trampoline is such a winner for all of them. Such a high-quality product, the net doesn't move when bouncing the frame is super strong, there is no way of them hurting themselves on the springs with all the safety features. And after going through 4 trampolines so far I can tell this one will last forever. I wish I had purchased this a long time ago. If you're looking for a trampoline to last and for endless fun for the kids all ages I wouldn't hesitate with this one.

I personally prefer it with a high bounce mat. It's more of a tramp for double bouncing or for people who do bigger tricks and need more space. That's what I personally think. Yeah, I think I agree with Matt. Especially if they are like a big family and all doing trampolining, then I'd recommend this tramp. Philip and Matt 15 & 16
