What size is a standard trampoline?

What is a standard round or rectangle trampoline?

  • Often people contact us to ask about a "standard trampoline" or they tell us they have a "standard trampoline" and require parts for it.
  • Unfortunately, we have to say sorry, surprisingly there is no recognised “standard rectangle trampoline” or "standard round trampoline."
  • Despite this, due to the number of people who visit and have a go at our trampoline display, we have acquired a general idea of what people mean when they say they want a "standard trampoline."
  • Either our 7x10ft or 8x12ft size seems to meet most people’s idea of what is considered a "standard rectangle trampoline." There have been however many variances of these two trampolines and their sizes over the years which provides us with no simple comparison to know what spare parts are needed by just referring to a "standard trampoline."
  • The same goes with round trampolines - it tends to be anything from 10ft to 13ft that is deemed to be a "standard round trampoline."

My personal conclusion from this what is considered to be a standard trampoline is a trampoline suited to an "average sized" backyard and two kids.

In considering these factors, the following current range of trampolines would be advised as being considered our "standard trampolines."

Standard round trampolines

The round 10 ft and 12 ft trampolines of both our Web and Warehouse brand and the four Vuly trampoline styles -

  1. Vuly Lift
  2. Vuly Lift Pro
  3. Thunder
  4. Thunder Pro

Your choice between the four varieties will be determined by your budget and preference for styles and colour.

  • All the spring trampolines of the same size have a reasonably similar bounce, with the Vuly Thunder large being better suited to the slightly older and heavier kids (8-12-year-old).
  • Springs give a softer bounce for younger and lighter kids than the leaf spring on the Vuly Thunder trampolines.
  • The Vuly lift and lift pro range suits families who are aware their little treasures wouldn't stop to do up a zip. The zipperless entry of these two Vuly styles would serve these families better.

None of these trampolines mentioned above have access to the springs. The pads on our brand have netting sewn to the front of the pads and buttonhole onto the mat. This is the same for the Vuly, the inside of the net buttons onto the mat.

Standard rectangle trampolines

We would consider these to be 7x10 ft and 8x12 ft trampolines.

Both trampolines would be a nice choice for two kids with an average backyard.

  • If you do have the space or budget, we would recommend to go one step further and encourage you to choose the 8x12 ft. This is because kids in their teens are happier to bounce on this rather than they are on the 7x10 ft trampoline.
  • As an adult, the 8x12 ft is still a great trampoline.
  • Our new design in the rectangle trampoline is also about keeping little fingers away from springs. The mats have now been developed to extend and overlap the springs to ensure this.
  • At the same time, this extended padding provides extra support while using the trampoline.

How do I order parts for my standard trampoline?

Sorry to say, but the only way and it really is the simplest, is to measure, count and compare your trampoline to the specification on our website. If you need help we would be more than happy to help you identify this, feel free to shoot us a message here or give Julie a call - (03) 5292 1100.
