Planning the surprise reveal of your trampoline

How to gift a trampoline for the ultimate surprise?

Once you have decided upon your trampoline size and type for a gift, your thoughts will soon turn toward the ultimate moment of the trampoline reveal, and how you will capture the moment that your kids see their trampoline for the first time.

The ways you go about it will always be unique and just right for you and your family, but listed below are some of the ways families have told us they have or had planned to do it! "Had" being the intent before being "busted"!

Don't be too disappointed if your surprise doesn't come off as you plan - not likely to be your fault but most likely due to inquisitive kids - remember what you were like around birthdays and Christmas as kids? That has not changed today! Looking, quizzing and checking up on parents including body and verbal language!

How trampolines have been given for the ultimate surprise.

  • Inside the house!! A big wow factor for a family with a cathedral ceiling... the downside was they had to take it down to get it back out of the house!
  • Have the trampoline hidden inside a shed - then walk out with it - "appearing like magic".... caution if you plan this, check and measure that you can get it out of the garage - the roller door width is wide enough and the height enough for the top of the net - not everyone's surprise has gone to plan!
  • Teamwork with neighbours... just make sure everyone remains sober until the tramp is safely on your side of the fence!
  • Only build half of the trampoline Christmas Eve and kids help with putting the netting on that they find under the tree.
  • Have the ladder or another accessory like a basketball kit wrapped under the tree and the trampoline assembled in the yard.

What if it rains?

  • Let's face it some Christmas Eves it does rain!! I have felt sorry for parents that I know are out in the weather assembling them rain hail or mozzies.....
  • Put a box under the tree or all of them for the impact of a huge present then get the uncles/cousins to help assemble it later in the day if necessary.
  • Have the trampoline assembled in the yard with a big bow on it and open the curtains for the reveal.

Going Away?

  • Have the trampoline set up at grandparents or the holiday house - then again pull down and take home....fair effort!
  • After a new sibling had been born and the kids had stayed at grandparents, they came home to notes on their pillows with clues from their new baby brother - the clues took them outside to where mum was already with the baby (they were also happy they didn't have to take the long drive to pick them up from the hospital!)

All in all, be creative and have fun, and for the disappointments that happen, the kids are still ecstatic to have their trampoline! It is something that is for a really long time to enjoy.
