Trampoline tents Australia - End of supply Vuly Tents

What is a trampoline tent and how does it work?

You would have to agree that trampolines are the most fun backyard equipment ever invented. You are absolutely right and guess what?

With the trampoline tent craze, the fun went to a whole new level! Trampoline tents are exactly what their name signifies: huge camping-like tents that could be attached on top of your trampoline. Why was that so great? Here are a few hints for you.

Trampoline hideaways

  • Children loved them. They enjoyed having their own bouncy clubhouse where they could meet with their friends and plan their treasure hunts and other adventures.
  • Most trampoline tents came with pockets in various sizes in and outside, where kids could store their shoes and hide their toys (or even that treasure map we were talking about).
  • Plus, you didn't have to worry that they would get burnt by the sun, as you do when they spend hours jumping on the trampoline (be aware it does get very hot inside the trampoline tent, do not zip children in and go out of earshot, stay nearby).

Controlled micro-climate

  • Much like regular tents, trampoline tents have net openings that allow uninterrupted view, air and sun circulation, but keep bugs out.
  • By opening and closing the “windows”, you could adapt temperature and ventilation inside the tent moderately.

Watch the weather

  • A trampoline tent should only be used in fair weather.
  • It isn't designed to go on and stay on all winter for shelter from wind and rain and nor is it a full-time sun shelter.
  • As the wind can get in under the trampoline the wind gets inside the trampoline and causes major stresses to seams.
  • Always advisable to check the weather if considering leaving the tent up overnight. Weather can be quite volatile in Australia!

Vuly trampoline tents

  • Vuly did give a free tent with each of their trampolines. Classics, Vuly2 and Thunder trampolines.
  • They were made of good material and a great design but still not of a grade to handle a major downpour or strong winds.
  • This is mainly due to the air flow that comes up into the tent through the jumping mat and applies stresses inside the tent to the seams.
  • Overall, the tent was ideal for all the reasons stated above and the kids did really find it fun.

NEW 2016 - Vuly shade covers-

  • Vuly no longer provides tents due to the issues with the wind and the negative reviews and warranty issues that come with consumers expecting a lot from something that was, for the most part, misunderstood to be a novelty item, provided free.
  • The new product is a shade cover it has ventilation in the top so the wind is much less likely to get under it and tear the seams. Not exactly all the fun of a tent but a more durable option and better for parents who are vertically challenged as once the shade cover is on it can stay in place for weeks (unless there are severe weather warnings then remove it).
  • Do note a basketball ring and shade cover can't be on the trampoline at the same time.

Where can I get a Vuly tent for a Vuly trampoline?

  • Over the few years of the tent craze, we saw brands come and go - this was a lot to do with Vuly taking out very well structured patents to stop others from copying and selling in competition to them.
  • We are unlikely to see Vuly tents return and as far as we are aware they are now a discontinued item.
  • Meanwhile, we do have some limited stock available which is unlikely to be replenished.
  • The tents we have are brand specific to Vuly
