How to use NDIS funding for a kids Trampoline

For many families, a trampoline is recommended for therapy for their children for a large range of reasons. Having supplied many trampolines through various local and interstate NDIS service providers we thought it was time we applied to be a provider ourselves for the direct convenience and service to our customers. We were certified as an approved NDIS provider until the end of June 2019 in all states except Northern Territory. We withdrew from the system due to new regulation expenses to remain certified. However, we can still supply quotes and provide trampolines for families with approved funding (NDIS written approval in plan) for self-managed and agency managed clients.

NDIS-funded-boy-jumpingWho can access NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to people with a disability, their families and carers. It is jointly governed and funded by the Australian and participating States and Territory Governments. NDIS replaces the current National Disability Agreement (NDA)

Objectives of the scheme outlined in the NDIS Act include:

  • supporting the independence and social and economic participation of people with disability
  • providing reasonable and necessary supports, including early intervention supports, for participants
  • enabling people with disability to exercise choice and control in the pursuit of their goals and the planning and delivery of their supports
  • facilitating the development of a nationally consistent approach to the access to, and the planning and funding of, supports for people with disability and
  • promoting the provision of high quality and innovative supports to people with disability.

Why decide to use our services?

Aside from the quality of our trampolines, the option to come and test and see all the trampolines, the immediate availability of them and being able to deliver nationally; we also have a personal understanding of living with kids with disabilities and challenging behaviors. So you can be assured you and your children will be treated with all the care, respect and understanding.

Why choose a GeeTramp trampoline?

Our brand trampolines is GeeTramp, they all meet and exceed Australian Standards. Our trampolines have strong robust frames and materials. We have a large range of sizes and mat options along with the peace of mind that we stock all spare parts for our full range of trampolines.

How to get a trampoline with NDIS funding?

The line item “Assistive Equip-Recreation” is required on your NDIS plan. This can be added during the initial plan or at the time of a review. We can provide you with a quote to submit to NDIS with your relevant recommendation from a professional. We understand that this takes time and we can provide a 90-day quote.

The NDIS misconception that Trampolines can be bought under Type 1 and Type 2 Consumable Items

NDIS provides some children with trampolines pending on disability requirements. For funding for a trampoline, it must be approved within your plan. Whether you are buying a trampoline under the Innov Community Participation or Assistive Equip – Recreation, NDIS must approve the quote and contact the supplier of approval. There is a common misconception that a trampoline can be bought under Assistive Technology Consumable Items. This is incorrect for most trampolines (small indoor step trampolines are Type 2). All outdoor trampolines are considered a Type 3 purchase, requiring approval by NDIS. It doesn’t matter if your plan is Self-Managed, Plan Managed or NDIA Agency Managed a preapproval is required. Web and Warehouse are happy to provide a 90 day quote for all NDIS participants. Please contact us via phone 0352921100 or email with your NDIS Participants name, Date of Birth and Plan start and end dates for a Quote, remember if you require delivery to provide your address.

Once an order is placed how long before receiving the trampoline?

Payment times from NDIS can vary depending on which plan management channel you use.

Once payment has been received, we will notify you if you within 24 hours. If you are local, that it is available for collection, or we will advise you that we have shipped the trampoline and the tracking number. (When ordering you can leave details for a preferred day for delivery etc)

If you have any further questions about our trampolines or if you are qualified to order a trampoline through us with your NDIS funding feel free to call us, 03 52921100 email directly or contact your NDIS support person.

We hope to be able to help you help your family get your kids active and enjoying a trampoline for all the health and social benefits it can bring to all the family.
