Are Your Kids Getting a Trampoline for Christmas? Read This
Ensure the thrills, magic & surprises of Christmas goes smoothly.
As parents, we love to bring the magic of Christmas to our children. We all too often find ourselves on Christmas Eve assembling things like bikes, sand diggers, doll prams, swing sets, cubby houses and on topic; Trampolines. Sometimes things go well with the assemblies and other times not so good. There are some things you can do early to stack as much in your favour for completing the job, resulting in being happy with your trampoline without staying up all night!
The first recommendation is once you decide on the gift - buy it or Layby it. Stocks can run short unexpectedly early of a colour or size you are after; we all want our first choice for our kids. (Most of us, unfortunately, do experience the disappointment of not getting it quite right at least once!)
If your little recipients can read; hiding big things can be tough! Ask neighbours, friends or family if they can hold the trampoline boxes until Christmas Eve for you. Older neighbours especially love to get in on the surprise of being a part of making Christmas magical for little people! Maybe your workplace can receive it from the courier and hold it for you until Christmas?
Trampoline Christmas Eve Assembly Preparation
You will either have collected the trampoline or had it delivered
- Once you have the Trampoline; check your boxes for the correct labelling - box 1/3, box 2/3, box 3/3, etc. and all noting the same size, for example, 8x12ft.
- Check items in boxes - this we strongly recommend. Although boxes are weight checked on the assembly line, random things can occasionally occur in a box - count the number of poles, legs, frame pieces, etc., check you have a manual, etc.
- If there is anything missing call us, and items can be sent or collected and sorted well in advance of Christmas Eve.
- Take a good look at the area where you plan to assemble the trampoline. Is the ground reasonably flat? Level as required and look above, are any tree branches in the way? Easier to do that before Christmas Eve than justifying why the chainsaw is out while kids are trying to get to sleep Christmas Eve.
Instructions
- Have a good read of the instruction manual and look at pictures online to familiarise yourself with the trampoline / play equipment you have.
- Vuly Trampolines don’t have a hard copy of the manual; you will need to view it online, download them, or print them off.
- Vuly Assembly Videos here for Vuly Thunder/Pro and Vuly Ultra - Flare - Lift 2.
- Under each of the Vuly videos is a PDF as well to download and read. If you are unclear on any of the assembly diagrams, or instructions, feel free to phone us before Christmas to clarify.
- We have guys here who do assemble all the trampolines and know the processes well.
What Other Help or Tools Do I Need?
- We recommend a second (or even a third for larger trampolines) adult to help; many hands make light work.
- If you plan to build the bottom half of the trampoline in the shed for a day or two (to make it easier on Christmas Eve) be sure to check the dimensions of your roller door to ensure it will fit out.
- If you’re installing your trampoline on pavers, concrete, or decking, have some rubber or foam matting to put under the legs to help reduce noise.
- Check lights will shine into the assembly area ok if it will be dark when you start the assembly.
- Some insect repellent might also come in handy.
- Some handy tools on standby
- Hammer (for anchor kits).
- 10mm socket (for some net pole and basketball hoop nuts).
- Lubricant (to help reduce metal noise).
Christmas Eve - Or on the Day
- Be patient.
- Allow for flexibility - back up weather options - e.g., - wrap boxes instead of assembling, or assemble without the net.
- We hope all goes in your favour for assembling your trampoline to a high standard, so it’ll be loved and jumped on every day for many years.
- The time it takes to assemble it properly is well worth the effort when you see how much the kids love it.
- Although we as parents have a vision of how Christmas will be with the "main" gift assembled if there are unfortunate reasons it doesn't all come together. The kids will still have a great Christmas and will be a lot less disappointed than their parents!
What if things do go wrong?
- Hopefully, with having checked everything, nothing will go wrong but if they do, (we are open until 3 pm Christmas Eve)
- You can email us or the quickest way to get a response will be to use the live chat at the bottom right-hand side of our website where you can leave your name, phone number, order number and trampoline size and we will respond even if showing “offline” as quickly as we can.
- We’re closed from the 25th and we’ll re-open on Wednesday the 29th of December 2021 at 10am.
We do wish you a wonderful family Christmas and a Summer happily watching your kids enjoying their trampoline.
