Best Quality and Design Trampoline Spring Padding

As the great laws of physics denote, springs are the essence of a trampoline therefore, it’s vital that they’re properly protected. Moreover, it’s crucial that they have optimally designed and functioning padding. For many fun-filled afternoons that to give you a spring and a bounce in your step, it’s all about that covering. In this post, we’ll delve into what exactly you need to look for when it comes to the best quality and design trampoline spring padding.

Fantastic Foaming

If moisture ever does get in our pads, we've got drain holes at the back which allow water to pass through rather than drench and ruin the padding from the inside out. The foam that's inside has a profile, with the thick bit fitting over the frame.

The other part goes to the mat edge and this foam is called "closed cell expanded foam." It has really good impact absorbing qualities and also has a memory so it can come back out. When you hit that, it takes the load of you landing on it and will spring back out. This not only secures its longevity, but it also means that it’s super safe and protective. It will stand the test of time and survive all weathers. Moreover, you can have peace of mind knowing that your covering will prevent injury and have a solid base so that you can bounce back from any falls!

One problem with pads, especially in the early days was how they were held onto the trampoline frame and a lot of pads just had an elastic strap. However, the elastic strap would soon stretch and stay stretched so you'd have a loose attachment system. The way we handle this is with bungee cords that will come with the trampoline. Essentially, it's a proper strong bungee cord and that's what will wrap around your frame. They go through eyelets which are built all the way around the frame for added security.

We also use these at the mat edge to stop the pads flapping around in the wind. It's really good for a longer life retention. If anything ever happens to them, they are quite easy to replace as well. Basically, it’s an easy yet strong enhanced attachment system that will endure and be the best grip for your padding.

Materials Matter

You then have to consider the material of the outside. You need something tough and durable that looks the part and does the job. We think that PVC is a superb candidate, and we use 55mm thick, high-grade PVC top to bottom. Not only will it be able to tolerate an array of weathers, but it will also handle being trodden on or even accidentally bounced on. Additionally, its strength means that your springs have a robust frontier and won’t poke through or become exposed.

best-quality-trampoline-padding-2-2021All in all, it’s important that you look at the materials used, the foam and the attachment properties. Although there are some cheap options, you need to think about endurance, safety and functionality. The last thing you want to be doing is constantly having to replace padding as it is costly and really, unnecessary.

Instead, get it right on the first buy and invest in some quality spring covering so that you can have many enjoyable times with your trampoline.
